KALEIDOSCOPE Art Field Trips
Grades 1 – 5
As part of our annual art competition, KALEIDOSCOPE 2024, students from Grades 1 to 5 participated in engaging and educational field visits aligned with the theme ‘Places to Palette’. These visits, held on 29th and 30th October 2024, aimed to inspire young artists by exposing them to new environments and stimulating their creative expression through observational drawing and painting.
- Grade 1 explored the natural beauty of Lalbagh Botanical Garden.
- Grade 2 visited the Bangalore Aquarium, observing aquatic life and its vibrant colors.
- Grade 3 delved into the cosmos at the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium.
- Grades 4 and 5 explored science and technology at the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum.
These hands-on experiences enabled students to connect their surroundings to artistic expression in meaningful ways. They returned to school with fresh perspectives, ready to channel their inspiration into unique artworks for the competition.
Grades 6 - 8
As part of our annual art competition, KALEIDOSCOPE 2024, NAFL, students from Grades 6, 7, and 8 participated in field visits to Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath to explore this year’s theme, ‘Places to Palette’. These visits aimed to inspire students to capture the essence of their surroundings and translate it into unique art.
- Grade 8 visited on 13 November 2024, engaging in early inspiration sessions ahead of the January event.
- Grade 6 and Grade 7 followed in January 2025, with visits on the 15th and 16th respectively.
During each visit, students immersed themselves in the vibrant artistic setting and later created visual art reflecting their experience. The program successfully encouraged creative thinking, enhanced artistic sensitivity, and broadened perspectives through experiential learning.
Grades 9 - 10
As part of our annual art competition, KALEIDOSCOPE 2024, students of Grades 9 and 10 participated in inspiring field visits that fostered artistic exploration through photography, aligning with this year's theme ‘Places to Palette’.
- Grade 9 students visited Cubbon Park on 6th December 2024 and engaged in a photography project titled “Extra-Ordinary (Everyday objects through a new lens)”. Using their mobile phones, students captured creative images of everyday scenes, observing the beauty in the ordinary and presenting it from fresh perspectives.
- Grade 10 students explored Lulu Mall, Bengaluru, on 22nd November 2024 for a project titled, “A Story in the Mall”. They captured black-and-white photographs, using contrast and composition to narrate visual stories from daily life.
These hands-on photography experiences allowed students to explore environments in new ways, enhancing their sensitivity to detail, and expanding their creative boundaries. The works submitted from these visits will form part of their KALEIDOSCOPE competition entries, judged by a panel of teachers.
