NAFL Dialectic - Senior School, 2023-2024
Senior School Competition: The Grade 11 students competed in the exciting, nerve-wracking Turncoat event, having to switch seamlessly between stances at the sound of the buzzer.
Students exuded cool confidence as they debated themselves on topics like:
Virtual Reality : Enhancement or Escape?
The Internet of Things (IoT): Smart Living or Surveillance?
Neurotechnology: Unlocking the Mind or Invading Privacy?
Bangalore Water Crisis: An artificial scarcity created to benefit water tankers?
NAFL Dialectic - Middle School, 2023-2024
Middle School Competition: In middle school, the inter-house public speaking competitions had events like JAM and Declamation, with the grade 8 & 9 performers captivating the audience with their sharp wit and tongue-in cheek humour.
In the Declamation event, students got under the skin of characters like Lady Macbeth, The Joker, and the Loch Ness Monster; donning these contemporary avatars to make astute remarks on mental health, ambition and habitat loss.
For the JAM event, students had a minute to speak on some very fun topics like
"Poseidon is looking to rent a house in Bangalore, in the middle of a water crisis. What would his house-hunting process look like?"
"In a utopia where Kindness is currency, what makes a millionaire?"
"It is the year 2050. Give us a run-down of a typical daily routine in an AI powered school run by robots."
NAFL Dialectic - Primary School, 2023-2024
Primary School Competition: Our Public Speaking and Debate Club, NAFL Dialectic, launched during the pandemic years of online school, has bloomed into a school-wide platform for students to hone public speaking and communication skills in Hindi and English. This year’s theme for Grades 4 and 5 was ‘Share Your Good Vibes Story’. We witnessed a heartwarming showcase of tales of friendship, kindness, and care that held us spellbound!
